Meet Hailey, Founder of Freedom Reins Initiative

Hailey Schilb is the founder of Freedom Reins Initiative, a nonprofit born from her deeply personal journey of resilience, survival, and transformation.

Raised in an unstable environment marked by her mother’s repeated substance abuse, Hailey experienced firsthand the trauma and uncertainty that many vulnerable women and children face. After being removed from her mother’s care and later returned despite little change in circumstances, she grew up navigating unsafe environments and dangerous situations no child should endure.

At just 16 years old, Hailey became a mother—a turning point that reshaped the course of her life. Determined to create a safer future for her child and break generational cycles, she committed herself to building a better life. Though the road was not without hardship and difficult choices, her perseverance, grit, and determination carried her forward.

Today, Hailey has built the life she once only dreamed of and is now using her story, resources, and passion for the equine world to help others find healing, hope, and restoration.

Through Freedom Reins Initiative, she is dedicated to creating transformative equine-assisted experiences for women overcoming trauma, incarceration, addiction, and adversity—offering them the same truth she discovered for herself: your past does not define your future.
